Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent place to go for an unsecured loan? After months of my commission-heavy job being not particularly packaged with commission, i find myself in a bit of a financial pickle.

I'm looking to borrow 2-3k which wouldn't be a problem, however my credit history is diabolical (my fault entirely) and I'm not a home-owner, unfortunately.

Any suggestions? I'm in a bit of a pickle.

With a poor credit history, the criteria is less, "who is a good lender" and more, "who will lend to me".
You can do soft searches to check the likelihood of being accepted, but suspect that a loan of that size and history will command a hefty APR frown

Go for the experian free trial, they will recommend lenders based on your profile.

You are going to get crippled with interest...

poundstopocket.com will give you £2k.

Expect to pay 300% APR, though.

Or sell something. The Porsche, for example..............

If the car is owned outright can people like Oracle not secure finance against it? Probably not worth it though for just a few grand......

Secured against the car, so if our hero defaults his car is gone. With poundtopocket it's unsecured.

Your profile suggests you drive a Porsche. How about downsizing to realise some of the equity on the car, rather than borrowing at stupid rates? If your are struggling now how will you manage a loan repayment as well? Or would you rather stick cotton wool in your ears, borrow for living costs and get really shafted long term getting into more and more debt with fk all to show?
How i could i forgot Pistonheads is the home of armchair commentators where everyone makes an opinion based on little facts or without knowing the full picture. I asked for advice on an unsecured loan and instead I get a the classic 'sell your car' statement.

150-300 pounds a month is not going to cripple me whatsoever, however the sudden need for a new boiler with a total cost including installation if around 6k including labour is going to fk me over majorly.

Thanks for the contribution.

Is that the reason for the loan? Then Ouch! Firstly, shop around a bit more - not trying to teach Granny, but some clients of mine fit boilers day in day out for less than that - depends on size of house obviously.

And why are you needing to fund a boiler - you mentioned you're not a homeowner? Down to the Landlord? Or can some arrangement be made with the building owner if you've got an arrangement where you're liable for such repairs. Might be worth seeing if it could be added to the rent for a period rather than an external loan?
