Hello,
How does the following read to you -
A. You have to take PCP finance to gain the £1500 discount?
B. You have to take any finance provided by Audi to gain the £1500 discount?
Extra Information
The quoted prices include a £1,500 discount which is conditional upon you taking out finance arranged by the dealer. Audi are offering Solutions PCP finance at 6.5% APR Representative over 18-48 months with a minimum deposit of 5%. The dealer that we put you in touch with will arrange the finance if required. Subject to Status. Written quote available on request. If you do not wish to take out this finance then you will need to add £1,500 to the prices that we quote online.
Thank you
Phil

My thoughts are that you need to take out Audi Solutions PCP in order to gain the £1,500 discount. How does the following read to you -

Have seen it before when buying a car that the dealer has in mind the best finance package for them (i.e. in commission, kick backs etc) which is not always the best for you!
You need to buy the finance from the dealer to get the discount and the dealer sells PCP finance, doesn't say that's the only option they offer, but the implication is that's all they do.
As above, there's no 'free lunches' when it comes to finance they'll be making the money back somewhere. Ask for a cash-price and see what deals you can find yourself to compare.

It means that if you take the PCP then Audi finance will put £1500 into the deal. The good thing is you get the money even if you take the finance and pay it off the next day.
If you do this make sure you apply for the finance as soon as you buy/order the car. My local dealer told me to wait 'we don't have to talk about this yet, your car qualifies for the offer as you're ordering it now' and then blamed me when the car turned up and then the offer had expired as apparently customers are meant to know Audis internal offer processing. A lot of complaining and friendly PH'er eventually got me a resolution.

Sounds pretty normal to me.
If you have the cash then finance it and pay it off the next day.
Also as mentioned above, check with the details of the offer and delivery times. I was lucky that the offer had expired by the time mines was delivered and the new offers for that quarter were double the contribution from when I ordered 10/11 months earlier

The dealer gets commission for getting the finance company your business, the £1500 deposit "contribution" will be a cut of the dealers margin, and probably partially amortized over the period of the finance agreement.
If you terminate the agreement before its contracted end date the dealer will be liable to pay the commission back to the finance company.
What benefit have the dealer got to giving you £1500 if you get your own finance and as such they get no commission (effectively a finders fee)?
You should be able to negotiate something over 8% off a new car (remember 20% is VAT anyway) so if the dealer won't give you a £1500 discount, go find a dealer that will. I have never bought a new car with out speaking to at least 3 dealers to play them off against each other. I can tell you now Toyota dealers don't like it!
