My better half is the owner of an ex council property that she is looking to rent out back via the council on a fixed 2/3 year term that looks pretty straight forward.

As it stands at the moment she has to use their property insurance but has been told she will need to take out an additional Landlord public liability insurance .

Can anyone recomend any brokers or companies that she can seek advice on cover etc

usually when you are renting it back direct for the council, I'm assuming they are deciding who live in it.

If thats the case make sure you disclose it to whoever you use to insurer it as it's usually a caveat on Landlords policies that the tenanncy is between the owner of the property and the tennant.

When councils take the above course of action they tend to be used for displaced families/assylum seekers etc, which insurers dont like.

Your best bet is to speak to an insurance broker who sepcialises in property insurance.

Feel free to drop me a PM if you need any advice.
