At work we are given a number of free shares each year as a 'thank you'.

I've found out today I've got around £450 that I can sell now, but would have to pay tax and NI (I could wait another 2/3 years and not pay either, but money would be nice now).

I'm struggling with my crappy Google skills to find out how much I would lose from selling now? Does anyone know?

Thanks.

take away 31% then (20% tax, 11% NI).

Unless it pushes you over to the 40% bracket.
