Best place for a lump sum ?

Mr T7 has just recieved a small inheritance (5 figure sum) and is looking for the best place to deposit it, any recommendations ?

My feeling is go for ISA's as access isnt critical, but IM not up to speed ont he bst places for savings these days.

If access isnt critical then any cash deposit is pointless. Value will be lost in real terms.
Looks elsewhere. ISA yes, Stocks and Shares, yes.

There are 6% corporate bonds available etc.

Should have been a bit more precise... looking for somewhere to dump the cheque whilst it clears AS WELL as the best place to leave it longer term....

Pay off all debt, if you've done that you might as well buy a better car or go on holiday.
