Post Office Shares - when will I get my money back?
Discussion
I'll admit straight of that I was late to the idea of buying shares in the PO. I just didn't realise until Tuesday that they were going on sale so listening to a couple of blokes in the pub, I decided to buy some. Came home about tennish, went on-line and bought and paid for £2,500 worth without taking the time to read all the gumph. Told SWMBO and she said what a good idea let's buy the kids ( 34 and 31) £750 worth each for Christmas pressie.
So she went online and bought one lot for £750 and then I bought another lot for £750, all paid from our joint account. So we'd bought one lot in her name for £750 and two lots in my name, one for £2,500 and another for £750
Fast forward to the next day, the day of the issue and it seems from stuff I see on the TV and press that we're only going to get £750 worth each. But looking at my bank balance on-line, the PO has taken out three debits, one for £2,500 and two for £750.
So anyone know how many shares I'll actually get and if I don't get all three lots, then when do I get my money back?

Only one application per person is allowed, so they'll have lumped the two you ordered together. You'll get the money returned soon.
I ordered £15k worth from within my SIPP (pension) and then naughtily ordered £3000 worth from my ISA with a different bank.
Somehow, "they" knew and I got nothing!called the isa people and they said that I'd ordered £18k's worth and therefore got none.
Seems the system is clever when it needs to be!

Seeing as investors didn't know how many, if any, shares they got until after the dust had settled, could they have sold imaginary shares on Day 1 if they'd fancied a quick buck?
The allocation was reported in the news on Thursday afternoon and I got my confirmation email early Friday morning, so you'd have to be very unlucky not to know how many shares (227) you had been issued.looks like chaos, i've had a grand taken from my account, but no confirmation e-mail of allocation. Should be interesting if people have sold the shares they thought they might have.....and have none!
Had to pick up a package from the post office on Sat, the girl behind the counter said she was happy as she was in for a little windfall.....with conditions, she also said some 300 staff she knew of had not applied for the "free" shares......so there may well be trouble down the line when the left wing "pinko's" go on strike, and those that now have an interest in the share price staying up decide to cross the picket lines

Only got confirmation emails this afternoon of two applications for £750, one in my name and one in my wife's. No mention at all, or confirmation of refund of the initial application for £2,500 worth. Hope they haven't spent it and done a runner
Guess I'll give them a week or two to sort themselves out then chase 'em for the refund.

k operation caused me to have little faith in the ability to dump them if the stock plummeted. If the workers go on strike and the price drops I might buy some more
