Anyone got any advice? I need one where you can pay in regularly but am happy not to withdraw anything for say a year (probs no more than that so 3 year bonds etc are out of the question frown)

We're talking £5-15k atm, maybe more once the Vodafone/Verizon transaction goes through!

Lloyds vantage; no fee, pays up to 3% with £5k maximum balance. You can have up to 3 accounts. Only criteria, you must pay in £1k per month.

Having just had a shufty through the MSE lists, I think my best bet will be to keep £5k in a 2% 1 year bond and then start putting the excess into a portfolio as even 5 year bonds are only attracting 4% :\

Can you post a link to that, need to find a new savings deal, with no fixed term as my Natwest one of 2.85% is just about to end and the best they have now is about 1.1%

It's 3% on the first £5k, need at least £3k balance to get that from memory and £1k in each month.

This time last year were briefly doing 4% up to £6k, but you also had to have 2DDs on the account and it only lasted for a year (so has finished now).

Thanks, so these arent savings accounts, they're current accounts with good interest???

You'd be better with the Santander current account, costs a couple of quid a month but gives 3% on balances from 3-20k (2% on 2-3k and 1% on 1-2k). IIRC you have to put in £500 a month and have 2 direct debits going out.

Yes, both the Lloyds Vantage and Santander 123 currently have a higher interest rate than any instant access account.

You can also go for the Halifax/BoS Reward accounts and get £5 a month.

The Santander and Halifax/BoS ones have hoops to jump through. Lloyds just want a min funding per month I believe.

Nothing, or negligible anyway. Only worth keeping just over 20K in the 123 account.

yeah nothing on £20k+

I presume that if you have £20k there are probably better places to invest/save ?
