Selling car this afternoon. Bank transfer??

Sorry I'm sure this has been done to death...

Buyer wants to pay 5k by transfer.. He's with HSBC, same as my wife so should be instant??

Have I any issue with this being recalled at all?

Why not call HSBC I bank with them and thought they operate customer services 24/7

Switch payments are instant and secure. Of course Joe Public doesn't have the terminal so can't accept them, but why don't banks or POs let you use one for, say, a £10 fee?

The only issue I could forsee is if the payment was made from a hacked/fraudulent account and later got taken back.

If they can do BT, then they can do telephone banking.

I've done this to pay for a car, without issue.
