Sorry if this is the wrong place but it seemed the most logical

I'm moving back to the UK next year after 14 years in NZ, I'm a UK citizen. It occurred to me that I would probably get severely rorted for insurance and in fact might have trouble getting insurance as I have been away for so long. I have a full no claims history here in NZ on a number of cars like a 993, RS4 etc. and can get proof of that. Anyone have any ideas if a UK insurance co. would consider this (lack of) history and take it into account ?

I'm only nervous because I am shipping back my VW California and was planning on buying a 996 Turbo or another 993 when i got back !!

Any advice most welcome :-)

Cheers

Someone I know just moved back after a few years abroad and basically didn't get any NCB at all. He wasn't paying full on 17 year old just passed his test rates but still quite expensive. So yeah, I'd prepare for a good rooting.

Unless NZ has some special arrangement or your current company has a UK office that will recognise your NZ no claims? Doubt it though, in all my experience of insurance!

Thanks, will do some googling and see what happens. I might end up in a Fiat Panda you never know.

Haha, actually I just did some messing about on quotes, with no NCB returning to the UK I could insure a BMW 330 saloon for a shade under 600 GBP a year, as a 35 year old man living in Northumberland, working in sales. Seemed quite reasonable to me.
