We have a piece of jewellery that we used to place as a 'single article' under our home insurance as it was above most single article limits. However over the last couple of years our premiums have gone crazy.

I'm now looking at insuring this article seperately - we have valuation certificate so all ready to go. I've found this company who seem very good price wise: http://www.assetsure.com/jewellery/ however looking at the reviews down the right hand side makes me nervous. This is the only place that I can find any reviews of them (it links to the below) and nearly all of the people reviewing have only reviewed this one company, which to me smells a little fishy (why sign up to a review site to only review one company?).

http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/assetsure.com

Has anyone used them or have first hand experience of them? Or can 'pistonhead police' find out any information about them which confirms I shouldn't go with them? (You know the kind of thing - the directors have twice gone bust after frauding customers etc).

I don't want to waste my money on premiums, but worst still I don't want to have to claim for the item and find out they won't\can't pay.

Any or thoughts would be appreciated.

It seems legit to me, from what I can see (on the FCA register and Duedil) it has changed hands recently, the Hildon Park Company (which is new) bought Assetsure (est. 2007) from the previous owners. The website is quite new and mostly seems to be quote forms, which is understandable. The gadget insurance is a framed version of Gadget Cover which is interesting.

If an insurer is FCA authorised (and they are) then your premium and at least 90% any claim is protected, so the stability shouldn't be a concern. Just read ALL the paperwork properly to check that the cover is what you need and you have paid who you expected to etc.

I thought I would take a moment to reply to your post. All the Trustpilot reviews relating to Assetsure are 100% genuine and only come from customers who have purchased a policy from us.
We chose Trustpilot as our independent review company as we believe them to be most well known and respected. We have no control over what customers post via Trustpilot but of course we do have the right to reply.

We are based in the United Kingdom, and are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, our policy for jewellery insurance is underwritten at Lloyds of London.
