Has anyone used or can recommend me a pre-paid currency card.
Am off to Aus for a month and looking for easy to use option.
I preferably want something which I can cancel once I get home and claim back any unspent funds

Did you have a reason for not wanting to use a credit card?

We have been using the post office pre paid card, very easy to use and seems like good rates if I remember correctly

I'd definitely recommend a credit card. It offers levels of protection and flexibility that you may need when abroad for a month.

We travel to Oz regularly and use this http://www.fairfx.com/cardselection. They charge you £1.50 + 1.4% for each withdrawal but the exchange rate is very competitive. Just make sure you take out $500 not $50 to reduce the effect of the £1.50 charge.

Use the link from Money saving expert (about halfway down the page) to get the card free when you put on over £60 or so

They recommend the Halifax Clarity Credit card as the overall best thing to get, the only downside is you have to pay interest on any money you withdrawal, so you need to work out which is best for you.

I agree, I am an avid traveller and I generally take with me a combination of payment options and a conventional credit card is always among them.
