I have been a bit lazy with my finances and have stuck with ING for far too long, I save 800 each month and get a measly 0.5% interest, I already have an ISA which is maxed out, a 1 year fixed bond with a big lump sum in.

I am looking to open a new regular savings acct, but most I have seen have upper limits to what you can pay in, I wish to put 800 in each month maybe more in 6 months time and have some kind of decent interest rate, the money must also be easy accessible.

Any solutions/suggestions?

Thanks

Lee.

Currently in the process of swapping my HSBC account to Santander 123 acct, but I don't want my monthly savings to be in the same account.

Only downside is you have to treat it like a current account - minimum monthly pay-in, and must have at least 2 standing orders coming out every month.
Standing orders or direct debits.

Personally I'd not use the 'switching service'. Better off spending a few minutes on the phone and moving the direct debits, standing orders etc yourself. JMHO.

So the Santander 123 account, you could literally just pay yourself 2 standing orders to another account per month and that would be fine?

Why? It ticks all the boxes.

I'm having similar thoughts about switching to Santander's 123 account, they have a point - if you're debit card gets cloned/hacked, the criminal will have access to a substantial pot. By removing the savings from a current account, should the worst happen the exposure will be much less.
