Just a quick one for anyone in the know. Is a spouse ever liable for their partner's student loans? Can't seem to find anything on the SLC website, but it seems the income threshold is for a sole income, and not household/joint income. Is this correct?

The wife and I both had student loans (at uni 98-2002). She has never earned over the threshold, so hasn't paid any off, whilst I did and cleared mine some years ago.

So, from my experience it is based solely on an individual's income.

No - wholly individual.
