I know it's probably been done to death, but please humour me.
I've been tasked by swmbo to find a home for her stash of cash, ( I've looked everywhere and I can't find it ).
She doesn't want to change current accounts, but just needs a decent return on her savings, no need for instant access, can deposit a lump sum and add whenever she needs to.
I suppose first thing to make sure is that she reaches her isa limit, but after that I need your help, ( lots of brownie points if I get it right ).
If I get it wrong I'll be looking for a good legal brain, lol.

No Isa at present, she got stung with ste interest on one before, and that just put her off.
As for amount, not sure really, but I think it's a good few grand.

Not sure how you can get stung for interest on an ISA. They are so easy to move.

Partly the reason she has asked me to find a home for her money, she is no good with this sort of thing, hence why she got stung, ( left it in an isa with ste rate ).

Santander 123 account, can have upto 2 single and one joint. £60k pays approx £130 a month if you have direct debits (2.4% after tax if your on the lower tax bracket).

Highest other savings rate is around 1.45% - tax which is pretty useless... All depends how much you have to put away.

TSB gives 5% on £2000 so that's £2k taken care of.

Define "descent return"?
Above, (5%) would be ok, but not limited to £2K.

But to be fair, it's extremely easy, just go online and find a better ISA rate.

I think if you want real useful and applicable advice you need to stop being cagey.

Sum involved, tax situation of person involved, whats already been used or not used in terms of allowances, expected time frame involved, appetite for risk and financial position and expectations.

Once that's been spelt out, various wise people here im sure will give you good advice.
