Cashing In Saving Plan - Forex or not?
Discussion
I'm cashing in a couple of savings/investment plans to buy a house, they are not performing well and I need somewhere to live. But that's another story.
I have about $75k in offshore plans and need then moved to my UK account.
I thought I had 2 choices -
1 - Transfer to my UAE account and then just wire the money to the UK Account. I guess this is the expensive way.
2 - Transfer/Cash-in direct to my UK account. I though this was my best option.
Now my broker is recommending that I open a Forex Trading account and use that for the transfer. Cash in to that account then Forex to the UK account.
My question is whether this is a better way than going direct to the UK account or if they are trying to fleece more out of me (the Forex account is affiliated with them)?
What is the real $$ difference transferring just $75k through Forex or a standard transfer into GBP?
Thanks O'wise money peoples.
