I know, this has probably been done to death but I'm hopeless with this kind of thing!
I'm self employed, contract for a couple of different people doing tree surgery and am starting to earn half decent money.
I've just opened up a current account with natwest because I was getting fed up of having to go into ipswich town centre every time I wanted to do anything with my Santander account! I'd like to start saving. Short term as I'll more than likely use it to go travelling but hope to leave some in there while I'm away. What's the best way to do this?

Either a high interest regular savings account, or for long term, stick it in a cash ISA to start building your future tax free income.

Ironically......keep your Santander Account open. If it's a 1-2-3 then it beats most other savings vehicles hands down !!! smile

Be careful up those trees.
