Why am I not surprised that once again, the Financial Services Industry is shown to be a law unto itself?

Isn't it a bit odd that they all have £30K as the trigger for needing "advice"

The last financial advice I took left me with an endowment mortgage!

It's our money so why are we allowing them to rip us off.

Anyone from the pensions companies like to enlighten me please?

Blame the Government.

They legislated that advice must be obtained if the transfer value from a 'guaranteed' arrangement is for more than £30,000.

Thanks.

By "guaranteed" do you mean like a final salary scheme or the sort of deal that got Equitable Life into trouble?

My pots are all just vanilla money purchase schemes from previous employers
