Credit Card account
Discussion
A certain Credit Card company that may sponsor the Premier League have just closed my account without warning after over 20yrs.
The best bit is, they waited for me to clear my account completely (which rarely happens) before doing it & guess what? The £45ish I have earned in cashback goes with the account, I receive nothing!
I have spent over 30mins on the phone to them, spoken to three different people in different dept's but the answer remains the same, I no longer meet their lending criteria.
Anybody got any ideas, at the moment I'm gobsmacked & fuming, is it worth contacting the Ombudsman? Not on Twitter or I'd have posted on their account.

A more senior member of staff has just called me, the 1st person to treat me decently & speak to me like a person, not a piece of dirt.
He has explained their reasons, I don't understand them but I accept them, he has taken my bank details & told me £45 will be in my account tomorrow.
Turns out there was a balance of £960 (nobody else could tell me this!) so I'd have knocked the cashback off that when I paid it anyway & let them bloody sue me!
As happy as I can be under the circumstances.

Seems like there is somewhat of a demise in new credit card products offering cash back so I'm wondering if it's not so good for the card issuers now and they maybe looking to off load anyone they can who are on these products.
I also have a cash back credit card product from said Premier League sponsor although it started life as an Egg card years ago. That had a blanket 1% back on all spending so was a pretty good deal, when they were taken over the 1% carried on for a while but then I got notified I would be moved onto a product with two cards attached to the account, an AMEX and a Visa, transactions on the AMEX pay 1% but only 0.5% on the Visa. I was all set to ditch them at this point but having looked around there really wasn't anything much better for long term use. It is a bit of a PITA having to ask in a shop you're not familiar with as the whether they take AMEX or not.
They've just upped the credit limit on mine so I guess think I'm a good customer so won't be getting ditched anytime soon?
