My old mum is in the UK for a week and has brought some share certificates that she got when she was working and living in the UK yonks ago.

They are all Mothercare and she wants to cash them in.

Is there a simple way to do this without having to open a share dealing account as once they are sold she won't be playing the markets biggrin

A quick search just comes up with opening accounts which she doesn't want to do and is so very middle 20th century. No internet or computers for her.

Thanks for any help, ta.

I think that mothercare shares are looked after by:

Equiniti Limited
Aspect House
Lancing Business Park Lancing
West Sussex BN99 6DA
https://equiniti.com/contact/

They'll probably have a facility to sell them for a small charge

I use x-o

They only charge a flat fee of I think £5.99 per transaction.

That^.

Equiniti will charge a percentage of the sale which varies depending on which company the shares are for, so depending on how many she has, it may be worth opening an account with X-O.

When I was looking at selling a bunch of different shares, held with different registrars, the fees varied between .75% to about 1.5% or thereabouts. Thieving bds!
