Hi,

Had a 9ct yellow gold plain solid ingot block weight 30grams valued at £400 in 1996 for insurance purposes.
Just wondering what the estimated value would be these days?

Thanks.

£240ish is scrap value. Replacement value for insurance purposes will be different, and at least double that.

Go to a Jeweller and ask for a valuation or price it up your self

Nice graph of price movement here,

Gordon Brown ("Ten years prudent management of the economy.") sold UK's gold reserves right at the bottom of the market, around 1999/2000.

The actual true value of a small ingot block would be the scrap value, as they isn't really any craftsmanship in making an ingot.

We use Presman for melting gold; this links shows the current prices.
