I haven't taken out a mortgage for about 5 years and I know things are now much tighter, but, I was wondering how much I could borrow if I had £250k to put down, hypothetically of course. Let's say we had a combined income of £75k.

I know I should speak with a financial advisor but this forum is as good as huh?

Thanks, so in theory I could buy a place for £625k? I have no dependants and we don't have mega debts.

They seem to check everything now - sky subs, phone contracts, utility bills etc
Anything thats a regular monthly commitment.

Yes in theory.

Naturally, the less you borrow, the easier it would be and the more options you would have smile
