Company car tax (diesel hybrid)
Discussion
Guys,
Can anyone give me a steer on the official company car tax situation when it comes to diesel hybrids.
There is allegedly a 3% rebate but when you put a car through the HMRC tax calculator it only gives you an option for petrol or diesel, which then calculates your tax using the appropriate rate for a diesel car.
But my E Class is a hybrid, so where can i find the key to unlock the 3% BIK discount?
Any info appreciated.
Cheers

The tax calculator is badly worded and therefore confusing.
There are essentially two fuel types for bik purposes, "diesel" and all other types.
A diesel car is defined as running solely on a Diesel engine with no other means of power. Therefore a diesel hybrid car is not a diesel for bik purposes, and does therefore not attract the 3% diesel surcharge.
If you only have the option of petrol or diesel in a tax calculator, select petrol, it will give you the correct result.
