The Marriage Allowance helps you if you earn up to £42,385 a year, and if you have a non tax paying partner. It's a great scheme.. but hardly anyone is taking advantage of it.

It allows you to receive some of your partner's unused personal allowance, up to a maximum of £212, via a change to your tax code. It takes a few minutes to do (a mate told me it took him 15 minutes), it only has to be done the once, and it's then good to go then on a rolling annual basis without lifting a finger.

Get the benefit for three years, and it'll pan out as the best five minutes work each year most of us will do I suspect! Apply online.

Highlights from the link helpfully posted by GingeR,

"To benefit as a couple, you - as the lower earner - need to have an income of £10,600 or less."

AND

"You can get Marriage Allowance if your partner’s income is between £10,601 and £42,385."

Indeed. Not forgetting the introduction on the Personal Savings Allowance too.
