Best Rewards Cards
Discussion
Repetitive post is repetitive, sorry.
Currently have an AmEx Gold and just received the 22k bonus after spend in the first 3 months. I did this a little while ago, then referred my partner so we've done it for the second time but I can't be referred again for 5 months.
Also have a Santander 123 card using it only in places where AmEx isn't accepted, or for fuel/train spending with the 3% cashback.
Average spend over the last two years is:
£13,000 - AmEx
£6,000 - Non-Amex (of which approx £2750 could be AmEx spend but was put on the 123 for 3% back)
I'm looking at the British Airways Premium Plus American Express card for the 2-for-1 voucher triggered on £10k of spend which we'll easily hit.
Then using the Lloyds Premier Avios cards which gives an Amex and a Mastercard, pls a free upgrade at £5k for two one-way flights, plus Avios on all the other spend.
We've not had a proper holiday in a while and this could be the way to an all-out holiday with premium flights at a reasonable cost, but I'm not sure if that's better than just going with the American Express Platinum Cashback Card instead and finding a good non-Amex rewards deal.
I'm not sure if this is the most effective deal though. Is anyone able to offer opinion?
