Not amount, but which funds? I'm looking at transferring a couple of old co schemes into a SIPP (if poss) and wondered what sorts of things are working for people.

I'm very nervous of my Health Fund investments with the US elections and the possibility of Hiliary getting in. Probably not a good time to be going in.

I find the fund research on Hargreaves Lansdown to be good - I'm in:

Woodford Equity Income - about 25%
Troy Trojan Income - about 25%
Malborough Multi cap income - about 10%
M&G Strategic Bond - about 15%
Morgan Stanley Sterling Corporate Bond - about 15%
LBG - about 10% (got in at 52 so doing ok but won't hold for long)

alternatively if you are not confident they will give you a ready made portfolio smile

At the present time I have about £64,000 in cash in a SIPP.

Anybody have any idea how I invest in NZ forestry? Is it as simple as buying shares in a company I can set up in ten minutes. Are there any UK tax implications?

The returns from forestry here are nothing short of spectacular (in the medium to long term), land value goes up, carbon credits are good, and the trees just grow.

With any luck I'll net a £300,000 windfall from a block bought for £100,000 13 years ago, replant and have an income from carbon credits within five years. (and still own the land).

What's wrong with UK forestry? Is it still as tax efficient as it once was?
