Patio door smashed by burglars, rental leasehold flat. Am I correct in assuming this should be covered by the block management buildings insurance?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, but only limited contents insurance. Buildings insurance is covered by the management company, which I would assume covers patio doors.

Call the managing agents, who presumably run the buildings insurance. I'd imagine it would be covered, but they can confirm.

Doors will be buildings insurance... I was covered a number of years ago when one of my properties had its back door smashed in.

Are you asking about mending the damage or coughing up for anything stolen? The landlord should have buildings insurance to put the door back and your contents insurance should cover anything taken.

As a landlord I would expect to pay for it. Its my bricks and mortar so my responsibilty to fix. Tenant is only responsible for their stuff.
