I've recently opened up a new stocks and shares ISA after cashing in on my old one a couple of years ago.

I've set it up with a small lump sum however I take it in order to add money to it once or twice a year I would just buy more units of the particular fund?

I know with HL you can "Top up" however the platform i'm using is a different one and has the options of "Buy", "Switch" or "Sell".

Yep - just "Buy" to add more to an existing holding.

You should be able to "Buy" into a cash park, this puts the cash inside the ISA wrapper but doesn't invest it in anything.
