Not the best deal ive seen..
Discussion
Im looking at a new workhorse for me and the wife to use for shopping/tip runs/dog taxi etc and the Dacia Duster seems to suit well enough.
Model is the 1.5dci prestige auto
Heres the pcp deal ive been offered
cash price £15890 (options of spare wheel and metallic paint) after £750 discount
£4000 deposit
48 mth of £214.09
1 mth of £4410.00 final payment
total £18686.32
i do want to change the car after 3 years not 4 as per this quote but with terrible residuals this seems a crap offer and leasing isnt cheap with these either..obviously i think i will wait a year and get a used one for considerably less but thought id post to let you discuss..thanks sam

If the residuals are awful, there will be some two year old ones around now surely?

Also looking at a Duster myself - IMO they only really make sense if you want to keep them for a long time rather than only for a couple of years
Not looking at the top of the range most expensive model probably also helps...

Id prefer a base model but the auto is only available on the laureate and prestige, tbh i can wait until there are some ex demos or nearly used about. Not looking at the top of the range most expensive model probably also helps...
Ive never used finance to buy a car but as i want to spend a largish amount of cash on a new weekend car pcp seemed worth a look..maybe not

If you're definitely going to change it after 3 years then it probably is the most sensible way to finance it (over a 36 month term obviously rather than the quoted 48 month)
GFV will be higher and you'll pay less interest
Thanks, ive a test drive booked for mid january and i will get the quote done again @36mths and see how that looks..GFV will be higher and you'll pay less interest

There are probably cheaper cars to lease for 3 years mind
I'm looking at buying the base model Duster for £9500 and running it as long as viable (ie 10+ years)
I had a look around a few while i was at my local Dacia dealers, bit plasticy but roomy enough and i actually prefer the looks to many suv`s on the market..im tempted to buy outright and keep for 10yrs too.I'm looking at buying the base model Duster for £9500 and running it as long as viable (ie 10+ years)
Bit less in the piggy bank for my weekend car though.
