Firstly
Kids have a decent amount in savings (one 4, one 6 yrs) but would like it to be something more than piffling interest growth. If I do a stocks shares ISA.......(pension idea considered but I want them to have a kick starter at the beginning of their spending life)
Do I need to open it in one name, my name or can it be joint in their names?
Who/where - will be locked away for 12 yrs at least.....
Can I pay in as if it were a bank account after the lump sum?

And yes the impending doom in the stock market (simplified view) does concern me so advise if there is better

I have a reasonable amount saved but I can't do locking it away forever - interest on saving is teeny! So I keep seeing various bonds which offer 8-10% if I lock for 3 years. Again any experiences/views on these.

Please use simple terms as I am not a powerfully built company director

Third....any decent IFA in the vale of Belvoir who will be worth speaking to

Oh and I've finally bought an Alfa (though am TVR less for the first time in 9 years)

Ta

Hi Chewitts.

ISA's are individual - hence the "I", so they'd be set up in their name, with their "Junior ISA" allowance.
I'm a financial advisor just outside VofB, I've sent you a PM smile
