Where to put the proceeds of a house sale

Expect to be selling our old house shortly. We'll need the money safe until we find the replacement home.
So reasonably ready access and obviously not exceeding the £75k limit for safety in each bank. If we both deposit £75k are we both covered?
Would be nice to get a bit of interest too. Think folks have suggested maxxing the Premium Bonds but they've just reduced the payouts again I think. But it is reasonably quick access.
