I was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent template or similar to create a will.
I am going for an operation soon and thought I had better get a will sorted in case I die on the table.
I have never had a will before and want to leave everything to my Partner ( not married)
House, Car, Pension, insurance, shares, furniture etc. I have no children.
Am I right in thinking this is as simple as a will can get? Will a DIY will be okay? Any recommendations?
I have small debt (credit card,loan etc) but savings are much higher than that.
Any tips for doing this?
Thanks in advance

As far as I'm aware a simple letter should cover this ensuring it's signed/dated by you with a couple of independent witnesses who also sign it with their names also printed (ie not your partner or someone could have reasonable claim to your estate)

It's a sad day, I voted no last time and at the moment I am still thinking along those lines but the last thing we really need is 2 years of people falling out with friends and family, this one will be even more divisive I would imagine which is a shame.

pretty sure once a year solicitors do discount will for charity as I had just got will when it happened, worth getting it done properly by lawyer and keeping copy as my mum's lawyers lost her will saying she had never been with them till I produced my copy....

I haven't used this site, but I stumbled across it recently and it might be of interest;
