FTB Mortgage - Default Error!
Discussion
Looking for a bit of advice guys (or maybe re-assurance)!.
We have had an offer accepted on a house. Have a decent deposit (85% LTV) and fall within the lending limits for the property.
Met with Broker yesterday and got everything in place - application submitted today to Coventry BS for MIP ready for full application; it came back declined!
A bit of digging and a default was applied to my account by Vodafone over the weekend for a dormant account from 2014! I had issues a month or so back due to a glitch in their system upgrade which was really quickly resolved and default removed. Checked credit files on Friday last week and all clear and removed as their error...then yesterday it's been re-applied to Equifax.
Vodafone have removed the default and this is already reflected in my Equifax score (shot up right away) but the details takes a day or two to re-fresh. Problem solved. Vodafone also issued a letter to the mortgage provider stating it is an error.
So...our broker has appealed to Coventry BS with Vodafone letter and is confident it will get sorted tomorrow - anyone have any history of having a declinature overturned at appeal though?
TBH, pretty nervous times! Credit files are otherwise unblemished with great history of sensible credit use (high limits/low spend) so shouldn't be a problem with another provider (and Broker has advised not to worry) but as an FTB, I'm very nervous!
Thanks in advance,
Rob

You will do well to successfully appeal a declined AIP due to credit file issues..........................good luck!We have had an offer accepted on a house. Have a decent deposit (85% LTV) and fall within the lending limits for the property.

My brokers persistence has paid off...MIP now approved and full application submitted. For the record in case anyone is in a similar position, the letter from Vodafone and a fresh copy of my Equifax Report showing it gone as of today was enough to overturn the Default error.
Still along way to go, but glad to be over the first hurdle!!
