Paypal buyer protection

I bought a pair of calipers off someone on ebay and a week later I have had nothing but excuses and BS from the seller. I want to ditch this tt and get my money back. i bought through Pp but not ebay. Am I likely to get my money back via their protection systems?

yes just raise a claim if it is valid you will get money back.

Yes. I bought an exhaust manifold from
Malaysia through a Facebook group. It wouldn't fit. The seller admitted it and said he would pay me back. After 4 months of excuses he started ignoring me. So I went public and found a few others had simlilar issues. So I took it to pay pal and told them the story. It got escalated and within 2 weeks I was paid back in full. And that was with me stupidly paying as a 'friend'.
