It's totally legit.

It's definitely not an affiliate scam linked to a 'broker' in Bulgaria.

I remember watching a program where they showed all the people that are in those adverts stating how much they had made were all just actors and didn't realise what they were actually selling, it was just an acting job to them.

the only other time i've seen reference to the brit method besides on PH is when a advert for it pops up a new window when I'm busy with 'special interest' websites.

I bit, not my proudest moment!

Just got railroaded into signing up with a binary options broker as said by previous poster - I thought they were in Cyprus or somewhere though, rather than Bulgaria.

Then I started getting calls from my "account manager" which was handy because, after a couple of attempts, I was able to get my money back with a tiny currency exchange loss.

I have since seen the same clips of the actors used for other, similarly implausible schemes.

I can't believe people on these forums actually fall for it.. It's rather embarrassing really.

That's the point. People do fall for these things and people do lose money on them. And you can see how and why, he is claiming to give you 10k if it does not work.

As someone who trades for a bank, these scams look even less plausible than the "my uncle's the oil minister of Nigeria" ones. Can I ask what it was that made you think it might work?

They look to be one step up from free energy machines, for the twin reasons of the markets being too efficient for any "scheme" to ever having been shown to work well and because if one did you'd make massively more money trading it yourself than selling it.

I'm curious, I suppose, as to what it is that hooks people in. Were you skeptical but thought it worth a punt, did you think it was going to be like buying a tip sheet, or did you think that there really is a mathematical scheme that if applied let's you extract a lot of money from trading binary options?

It's a while ago now, but I think I wanted to see what it actually was, always knowing how implausible it was. The slick bit was that the "Brit method" site didn't actually ask me for any money. The only money that I actually parted with was my deposit into the trading account, which I realised was a bad idea as soon as I had done it!

It was late, I was tired! I really should have known better.

AIUI, The Brit Method is actually a bot that will very efficiently lose all the money in your account. From what I have gleaned, the broker's account managers will give you advice or trade for you to achieve the same effect, although slightly less efficiently.

As I said, I was (fortunately) able to recover almost all of my "investment".

@cat with a hat, it is very embarrassing, so much so that it would have been quite easy for me to refrain from posting. If my post helps somebody else avoid the hassle, then I can accept a little embarrassment.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it.

You shouldn't feel too bad, these sort of things are clearly slickly done. They have to be, or they'd never get people, and would stop being a thing.
