Hi all.

I'm 48 and I'm thinking more about pensions as I get older. I'm in a final salary pension scheme with work at the moment which I want to leave well alone, but I have two old frozen pensions, one of which was subsidised by an employer, whilst the other one was a stand alone one with Sun Alliance I think (didn't they change hands a while ago?)

Anyway, pensions have always baffled me a little, but I quite like the look of the services the above two companies offer (I.e alleged transparency and access to balances etc.)

Has anyone had any experience with either of the above, and what are your thoughts if you have?

Considering where to put my old Equitable Life lump. £40K(?)

Married. Age 60. 20% taxpayer.

Get a wealth manager and make them earn their %. Although 50k lump sum and 500 pm in won’t fit many of their min business models now, they need big funds to make it worthwhile now that the regulator and govt stuffed pensions income....stupid move as the normal man on the street gets no advice anymore in an environment that needs great advice.
