My residential mortgage is up for renewal. I have contacted my bank so see what they can offer.

I currently have an existing product which is £100k at 0.5pc above base which I'm keeping. The rest of my mortgage is being offered at 2.38pc fixed for 10 years by my current bank.

Is it worth going to a broker to discuss this?

I also have a BTL mortgage which I would like to release equity from. My bank would only lend me half of what I need. They say my wife is a dependant so I am limited in what I can borrow. Would a broker be more flexible in their ability to find a better deal?

If you are keeping the £100k with the current lender, then the rest of the lender has to stay with that lender too................so not really much to speak to a Broker about!

The BTL is something a Broker can help with.

I'm a broker.

Other Brokers are available too! smile
