We've used them a fair bit in the past. The last vehicles we financed with them (HP) were at an APR of low 5%s. However they've just quoted me about 6.5% for a vehicle we are about to buy.

Our current account manager seems to be rather crap to be honest. Is she just being apathetic, or have their rates increased by that much?

I know a lot of guys on here used to use them.

Hasn't LAF been sold by RBS very recently?

Used them years ago for a 430. Good experience, but much better available. Haven't financed a vehicle for a good while but previously (since Lombard) used the Oracle brokerage very satisfactorily.

I think Oracle are at 6.9 or 7.9% at the moment. Is there cheaper out there?

Oracle's a broker not a lender.

Used to use Lombard for both personal and business asset finance but they have become uncompetitive over the past few years. I use Clydesdale Bank for my cars and they have been nice and easy to deal with. My last deal was 4.4% APR in Oct last year.

I’ve used Alphera Finance for my last three cars, always been around 5.9%

Isn't Alphera BMW's 'captive'?

Yes, it’s actually the finance provider if you buy a car from a BMW dealer.
None of my last three cars were BMW though, nor did they come from a BMW dealer.

The only time you can’t go direct to them is if the dealer is already one of their ‘partners’
