Safer to stay in it long term. Wouldn’t necessarily throw loads in in one go though either.

Surely it depends on which market you are talking about. Have a nice school holiday!

A response so qualified it could easily pass for being meaningless.

You should have been shorting it before the correction.

The problem with stock markets is nobody knows what is going to happen, plus there is a lot of inside manipulation.

90% of retail investors loss all there money in 90 days spread betting.

But for FIRST TIME 'investors' in Spread Betting, I could believe that figure.

UKOG 3p , 10p, 3p is that not manipulation, pump & dump.

The spread betting quote is from Clem Chambers.

I don't know what it means.

Lost all their money?

Hard to imagine that's right. Maybe they lost their investment perhaps? Or lost the bet they took? Who knows.

You seem to be confusing ‘market manipulation’ and ‘volatile pricing of illiquid stocks’.

Spread bet Beginner Scenario

Opens account with £2000, has early win on FTSE index, say £750.

Now has £2750, reads article in paper about Virgin Money, thinks it will go to 350p.

Bets 100 points at 300p, Virgin Money goes down to 270p.

He is now £3000 down & will receive a margin call ( has to put more money in to cover the margin)

Inexperienced investors placing leveraged bets on single stocks (based on third party analysis) is nothing to do with ‘investing’ and everything to do with simple ‘gambling’.
Might as well head to the Casino...

I'm not sure that many would call spread betting investing?? It's a very high risk activity which can make and loose you huge amounts of money very easily, in a very short time. I know as I spread bet!!!!! The nack is too make more than you loose!!!!
