With mini-KTF just over 2 and a bit weeks old, the grandparents would like to put something away for him for when he is older. They initially wanted premium bonds but I said I would prefer a junior S&S ISA as the returns would be better than premium bonds and a cash ISA over the term.

I am aware that it would be in his name and ad 18 he can do as he pleases (with some guidance) when it matures. I ready max out my own ISA allowance each year so this would be in addition.

I already have a HL account and they offer a junior S&S ISA but then you have to select your own funds: http://www.hl.co.uk/investment-services/junior-isa

The Charles Stanley one seems to be popular as well: https://www.charles-stanley-direct.co.uk/our_servi...

Or there is one from Orbis where everything you put in year one is fee free for the term and their fee is based on the performance rather than a fixed amount: https://www.orbis.com/uk/individual/isa/jisa/ You can give the details to anyone and they can pay in directly via a link which would be useful for birthdays as we have more than enough toys.

Any opinions on the above or other options I should be looking at?

I put £1000 into the H.L junior isa 2 years ago and just used there pre-made portfolio. It has 4 funds in it £250 in each. Last week is was worth about £1700 . I’ve just started to pay monthly into it as well.

I used Fundsmith for my children when they received an inheritance. They are now over 18 and have learnt the value of investing and the growth that can occur over time.
