Online Wills - a word of warning...
Discussion
I was speaking to a colleague who had suffered the bereavement of a sibling.
His siblings Will had been created online using one of the companies that offer this service.
Come the execution of the Will, the online company were the executor (the online form didn't provide the option for an executor to be named).
As Executor they charged a considerable percentage of the estate for their services and chose a solicitor that charged excessive fees.
Some legal advice was sought regarding the cost but the contract was deemed watertight and the bill was settled.
The amount of money was considerable.

Perhaps the deceased knew the likely charges and was satisfied with them.
That's a fair argument. But more likely he saw the £19.95 set up fee as a bargain. But didn't expect the executor to take 4pct of the estate as their fee (average appears to be half that) and the solicitor to charge at least 5 times the figure I have seen for similar work.
Caveat emptor.
