Im currently being chased by my previous council for a sum of £20.

I'll try to keep this basic.

I moved out of my previous place on August 22nd 2017. The council was made aware of this.

Fast forward to May of this year. And in now being asked to cough up £20. They're basically charging me for having a second/unoccupied home. They've told me that I was liable for that property up until August 27th.

I don't get how this could be the case. When I left the place on the 22nd.

Should I just pay them?

Were you an owner or tenant?

For the sake of £20 and to get them off your case I'd cough it up.

Afterwards if you're feeling a bit hard done by, go to a council run leisure complex and steal £20 worth of industrial grade bog roll and soaps from the toilets. Take a gym bag with you. (Don't do that though, it's insane).

It's 20 quid. Lifes too short.

Exactly... They should get let it go.

I was a tenant. I've decided to pay them today and then appeal for a refund.

The landlord has apparently told them the 27th.

I'll be asking for proof of that.
