Advice on Importing a vehicle from mainland Europe to UK

Hi All,

Recently I have been looking into purchasing a car from Germany and importing it back to the UK, however I have some questions regarding VAT.

So on mobile.de, there are many used cars advertised by dealers which have both the Net and Gross price separate.

I was wondering whether if I am exporting the vehicle to the UK, whether I can purchase the vehicle at the net price? (should it be available as an option?)

If yes or no, would I have to pay VAT when bringing the car into the uk? (Assuming the car is over 1 year old and has over 6000km on the clock)

I am a private individual not a business.
