Probably more suited to the MSE forum, however as my ex is on the brink of applying for bankruptcy I thought asking here was a safer bet where she's not likely to see it.

As title really, we have no joint debts or mortgage, I've changed all my addresses to where I'm living now and think I've covered everything else. However I'm still paying for the phone and broadband for her house, and her car tax comes out of my account also. Are these loose ends that need tying up before there's a bankruptcy on file at the address, or are a few bills coming out of my account neither here nor there?

Reluctant to just cancel DDs for both as that's the last thing she needs right now.

Check your credit report @ noddle or clearscore (both free), that will tell you who you have financial connections with. I think that you're only considered to be linked if you have a joint bank account or jointly took out a credit account with them.

This happened to me. Several joint debts with my ex wife and she declared herself bankrupt whilst there was still money owing after we split up.

I was paying for it all anyway as she refused to contribute and nothing changed after she declared. I settled the debt over the next couple of years.

Despite having these financial ties (that ran deeper than yours it seems) it didn't appear to affect my credit score or ability to obtain credit and a mortgage.

Only just asked to have her name removed from my credit history recently because I got fed up of the reminder every time I checked my score on Noddle!
