Contractor mortgage advisors
Discussion
I was wondering if there are any contractors among us who have used a specialist broker/advisor to secure a mortgage.
The unique way in which a contractor calculates salary, dividends etc in order to be most tax efficient, means that it’s hard to prove or represent accurate earnings. Some of these brokers say they have negotiated special deals with some lenders and take in to account hourly/day rates instead of just accounts when applying for a mortgage.
I’ve been looking at a company called CMME, has anyone had any dealings with these or any other similar companies at all?
I’d be keen to hear of any feedback and experiences
Thank you

And we certainly don't charge extortionate fees like CMME's £995!
"Residential mortgages have been regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) since 1st April 2013. General Insurance has been regulated by the FCA from the same date. Buy-to-Let and commercial mortgages are not regulated by the FCA (under certain conditions a Buy-to-Let mortgage may be regulated, we will advise you if this applies to your application). The £995 fee is payable on application, per application. This fee is payable when you wish to proceed with the recommendation made. This will follow a full application for a mortgage product that has been agreed with you as suitable for your needs, before any application is made. In circumstances where a suitable mortgage offer is not produced as a result of our recommendation then the fee is fully refundable. If we are required to recommend a mortgage from a lender that specialises in providing mortgage funds for clients with impaired credit a different set of charges will apply, please ask for details."
