Childcare Vouchers and Tax free Childcare

I subscribe for childcare vouchers.
My wife is about to go back to work with the little one in nursery. She is starting a new job, so is now unable to apply for childcare vouchers.
Do I need to cancel my vouchers to apply for tax free childcare or can my wife apply for this as an individual? Looking at the numbers we will be better of with TFC (at the moment) than vouchers under just one salary.
Can I exhaust my vouchers whilst applying for TFC?
