Can I protect a purchase from Germany

Hi
I am purchasing a couple of items (total around €1000) from Germany and the company is requesting an IBAN payment

Is there anyway to protect my purchase since all I can see if IBAN is a current account transaction only, a Credit Card will not allow such a transaction

bank trasnfers are very common over here, Germans are a bit more trusting than us brits.
