I know of a couple of people who have got some money through this PPI check. One got quite a bit so thought I might as well give it a go.

Has anybody done this successfully and who did you use ?

What information did you have to supply ?

Used a company called Etico.

Just called up, they sent some forms for me to sign and tick off the banks I'd used over the past twenty years or so and that was it. Nothing other than that really.

Got a cheque from First Direct yesterday for PPI on a loan many moons ago.
Etico bill you 20% plus VAT for any successful claims, but I still came away with £320 for signing a form. smile

Phone number 0114-478-3449

Do it yourself.

Contact the lenders directly.

I used a company, with success

My partner did not. Her initial assessment was rejected. We appealed with a lengthy letter, got a cheque within days.

Saved about £3000.00

I used Resolver, which produce all the templates for you (for free) and then sends it to the appropriate bank. You'll need the sortcode and account number of the account you want to claim against.

Seriously, do it yourself!

Write to the provider, bank, cc, mortgage etc ask for an explanation of if it was sold correctly. They may then send you a further form, fil it in. Jobbed.

Don’t pay 10% to someone for a minor bit of admin.

Problem is I can't remember - I thought this was the whole point with going through somebody, they contact all the major companies and have access to records ?

What can you do if you can’t remember or don’t have any details of the bank account though?

I know I had ppi many years ago with Egg and capital one, but sent the revolver thing to both of them and got replies saying they don’t have details of my account.

Similar here, I had an Overdrive card I think it was called, years ago. I'm sure it had ppi attached. No record of such a card or what bank it was connected to when I've searched online.

I know the mis-selling was a scandal....but do you actually think you were mis-sold something, or are you just angling to see if you can get some cash?!
If the former.....try harder to recall who sold you what!
If the latter,....move on with life!

So did I. If I remember correctly, I couldn't remember all the details of one of the accounts but the company located it nevertheless.

A very good service.
