Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced, fixed fee probate specialist?

I need to sort out my late father's estate. He left a will with everything going to my mother. We are both named executors but she would like me to take care of things. The house is in a discretionary trust and I don't know if this complicates matters or not. I'm happy to try and deal with the estate administration myself so just need the grant of probate.

When my father passed away 7 years ago, he did not leave a will, he had about £30k in bank savings and life insurance.
I took the burden off my mother by completing the forms from https://www.gov.uk/wills-probate-inheritance/apply...
No probate lawyer involved, it took about 2.5 months for the whole process to be completed, the final part was reading and saying a prepared statement whilst my hand was on a bible at a family court (actually in an office, just me and the government officer) and then signing a couple of forms.
The paperwork (Grant of Probate) from the court arrived 48 hours later.

I’ve done my late mother myself all online - thankfully straightforward with a will and no trusts or anything . Main problem was that I and the solicitors were joint executors and I had to pay them £350 to renunciate in order to do it myself.

Get a Will people - without one it’s a pain for those left to deal with your estate.

Worth knowing that Lloyds will release up to 50k without probate being granted which is handy in the early days of making funeral arrangements.

Obtaining the grant yourself is the (relatively) easy bit setting up the discretionary trust is the part you will likely need professional assistance with. To answer your question Kings Court Trust will give a fixed price price or you could try a probate broker like Final Duties who will also give a fixed price but both of these outfits will want to quote for the whole process of obtaining probate, setting up the trust and administering the estate distribution process.
