Is there a recommended website for running pensions calculations? There's quite a few out there, but it's not clear which I should use.
My wife has moved jobs and needs to decide on what to contribute to her pension. Her employer will match up to 5% but we're trying to work out whether it makes sense to contribute more.
I've given her some rough numbers, but now she's complaining about retiring at 68! Is there a good website that'll let me drop in all my circumstances and give me pension values at different retirement ages?
A slightly different question is whether we should put the extra into some other investment vehicle instead. Between us we have (in theory) 2 state pensions, my Civil Service Pension, then hers has been into a Standard Life type normal fund since she started working. Her new employer uses a similar sport of scheme, which I presume are relatively conservative.
An extra 5% contribution would be about £200 a month, so should we lump that in with the rest, or look at something else?
