Partial transfer of current employer pension scheme to SIPP?
Discussion
Over the past 10 years I've been consolidating pension pots from previous employer schemes into a SIPP. The reason being that I am buying individual stocks for income and with a contrarian approach/some fortunate timing I've been averaging a 7% dividend as well as some good capital growth. Although I know these kind of returns aren't guaranteed in the future, I much prefer this 'high yield portfolio' approach to investing in a managed fund.
I'd quite like to stay with my current employer for some time yet so I was looking into a 'partial transfer' from the current scheme into my SIPP. From my research it appears to be legal to do this but the pension providers don't advertise it and may tell you they don't allow it.
Has anyone done similar recently? And if so, how much difficulty did you have with your provider processing the transfer?
Thanks

Why not just divert new funds into your SIPP?
But aside from that you should also review performance and fees on your employment fund.
You might find that should go into your SIPP into a passive LTBH tracker.
I certainly would not put 100% of everything into your dividend plan.
Your age till retirement, risk apetite etc will all factor into that. Also are you 100% in UK stocks etc. You need diversification, etc, etc DYOR.
But you should be investing based on that stats for the most part and playing at the margins. All going well your "play" money will outpace your stable core fund. But why take the risk with the bulk!?

Partial transfers are certainly legal, but the individual scheme rules will dictate if partial outward transfers are permitted.
